HIS PROFESSION AND HIS WORKS:

His profession was the painting and he is known as the Teacher of the Griggs Crucifixion in reference to his work that it was a time in the Metropolitan Museum of New York (USA).

His style oscillates among a delicate language of an extreme Gothic, rich in archaisms and coming closer, vastly, to the work of Masaccio (Italian painter).

Notable in their production of profane type, as the large chests, for example, with Scenes of the Life in the Court (at the moment in the collection Kress in Washington D.C.) and other two large chests with delicious scenes of the "Palio of Firenze" (one of them in the Museum of Art of Cleveland (Ohio, USA) and the other one in the Museum of Bargello (Firenze, Italy).

Processione dei PaliiProcessione dei palii di S. Giovanni, stemma della famiglia Benci(?), stemma della famiglia Aldobrandini, Allegoria delle Virtú cardinali, Allegoria della Speranza: Colored on a carved wooden large chest and on one base of golden pasta, carried out among 1425 -1429 and at the moment it is in the Museum Nazionale del Bargello (Florence, Italy). This is a precocious but typical example of a class factories very diffused in the " Quattrocento " (XV century) Florentine whose destination is the one of containing the matrimonial trousseaus of the tall youths - bourgeois. In general the figurative topics of those large chests are mythological, but developed in the way anticlasic of the contemporary chronicle.
